Paine W trek

Torres del Paine in Patagonia is Chile’s most prized national park and the Paine W is a great trek for all trekking enthusiasts.

Our fully-supported Paine W trek is based on the standard W with a twist as you stay in a combination of eco camps and refugios. And as well as the stunning highlights of Grey Glacier, French Valley and Towers and Horns of Paine - there is a bonus visit to the Milodon Cave and the Eastern lakes.

It is designed for those who love eco camping and trekking in the outdoors, and for people that want a little bit more from their Patagonia Paine adventure holiday.

The eco camp consists of luxury tented igloo-type domes built to minimize the environmental impact while providing a comfortable setting and maximum exposure to nature. They have showers with hot water, electricity for charging camera batteries and plenty of delicious food.

About Paine

Paine features 180,000 hectares of diverse scenery and wild landscape on the edge of the southern ice fields of Patagonia.

Declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1978, Paine is one of the largest sources of temperate-zone glaciers in the world and lies 120 kilometres north of Puerto Natales, the gateway town for the park.

The name ‘Paine’ (pronounced ‘pie-nee’) comes from a Tehuelche Indian word meaning blue. The ‘Torres’ - or Towers - are named after three spectacular granite peaks, the highest reaching 2,900 metres, that form the centrepiece of Torres del Paine. These dramatic peaks are part of the Cordillera del Paine, the youngest mountain range on earth.

Other notable peaks include Paine Grande at 3,050 metres and Los Cuernos (the Horns) that range from 2,200 to 2,600 metres. Forests, steppe lands, lakes and valleys surround them.

For a longer trip, why not trek around the entire Paine massif on our Paine Circuit or, to reach the really remote areas, our Paine W trek and kayak trip.

Check our group and tailor made options. And you can always contact the office with questions or for advice.
